my visual art goals
- To explore the spiritual essence of color, form and interaction by using a semi-random process of creation.
- To externalize my visualization process.
Basically, I practice two forms: Abstract Expressionism and Symbolic Realism.
- Abstract Expressionism. I investigate patterns with process, choosing emergent elements to form a visual hierarchy that sometimes elicits meaningsometimes just brings up stuff. Visual development is my way to find the answers to life, the universe and everything. Feel free to engage the pictures in discussion and slap on any meaning that comes to you. Let me know if I missed the point,
- Symbolic Realism is about composing realistically rendered objects as if they were abstractions. Which, technically, they are. This is not about collages. It is about making pictures which appear real but, on closer inspection, are actually subjective symbols. The realistic elements function as abstractionsdistilling the essence of the abstracting process and depicting it in such a way that ordinary awareness and meaning are altered. I stop buliding the image when it begins to suggest a story line, leaving the end of the story to the viewer.
Generally, my creative works exist as sign posts of my life and are hugely autobiographical.
HeartWind Studio is my vehicle for publishing creative visual and expressive content. I'm available for freelance projects. I also write. If you like my stuff, we should talk.
I have been using the computer as an art tool since 1994. I believe in the future of cyberspace and that one day we will all be living here.
